How ParentSquare notifications work

ParentSquare is one of the most common ways schools reach families. It can notify you three ways (the app, email, and text), and understanding the difference is the key to not missing what matters.

The three kinds of ParentSquare messages

• Posts: regular school and classroom updates (events, reminders, flyers).
• Urgent alerts: time-sensitive notices like closures or early dismissals, usually pushed by text and app right away.
• Digests: a once-a-day bundle of the routine posts, so you're not pinged for each one.

Setting your notifications

In your ParentSquare account, notification settings let you choose instant or digest for each channel. Instant means every post pings you; digest means one summary a day. Most parents land in a bind: instant is too noisy, but digest can bury an urgent item until evening.

Why parents still miss things
