How Seesaw works for parents
Seesaw is a learning app that is especially common in elementary schools. Teachers use it to share your child's classroom work, photos, announcements, and direct messages with families, all in a running journal.
Connecting to your child's class
Your teacher sends a QR code, a text invite, or an email invitation. Scan or tap it, create a free account in the Seesaw Family app, and you will be linked to your child's journal and start seeing their class's posts.
What you will get
- Your child's classroom work and photos
- Announcements from the teacher
- Direct messages, which you can often reply to
- Reminders about events and deadlines
Why messages still slip by
Seesaw is one more app with its own notifications, on top of email, Canvas, and Remind. A genuinely important message, like a deadline or a change, can look just like a routine photo from the day. AVVI brings your school communication together and shows you only the ones that matter, so the important Seesaw message does not get lost.
Let AVVI catch the ones that matter
AVVI watches out for your school messages and shows you only the ones that matter, the moment it matters. Free for pilot families.
