How to check your child's grades online
Most schools put grades, assignments, and attendance in an online parent portal. The name depends on your district, but the idea is the same: sign in, see how your child is doing.
Common parent portals
- ParentVUE / StudentVUE (Synergy)
- PowerSchool
- Infinite Campus
- Canvas (often for assignment-level detail)
Getting access
Your school's front office provides a parent-portal activation code or invitation. Use it to create your account, then link your child. For Canvas specifically, you'll want a parent (observer) account with a pairing code.
Checking in without living in the portal
Portals are great for a deep look, but you won't log in every day, so a slipping grade or a missing assignment can go unnoticed until the report card. The notices that do reach your inbox (a progress report, a teacher's note) are the ones that matter, and AVVI makes sure those don't get buried.
